Pizzuto, State Officials Tout Prescription Drug Discount Card Program in Waterbury

Waterbury, Conn.–State officials gathered in Waterbury recently to encourage residents to sign up for a new prescription drug discount card program.

Members of the legislative delegation were joined by State Comptroller Sean Scanlon at Stoll’s Pharmacy to talk about the free app. The program was established by a new law (Public Act 23-171) supported by Representative Bill Pizzuto (R-71).

TAX CUTS

The state budget, adopted in June, cuts the bottom two marginal income tax rates for all filers from 3% to 2% and from 5% to 4.5%. Income taxes on the first $50,000 in taxable income will be lowered for single filers and married people

Rep. Pizzuto Honors Vietnam Veterans at Middlebury Ceremony

Middlebury, Conn.– State Representative Bill Pizzuto (R-Middlebury) joined state and local officials to honor Vietnam era veterans at a ceremony held in Middlebury recently. About 30 veterans were presented with medals from the state Department of Veterans Affairs and citations from state and federal government representatives.
