Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 847 in Waterbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that a milling and resurfacing project will take place on a 2.78 mile of Route 847 in Waterbury from the Naugatuck town line to French Street.

Now, if you have never heard of “Route 847” that’s because it’s an unmarked designation the state DOT uses.  In layman’s terms, Route 847, and this project, begins at the Naugatuck town line on South Main Street and proceeds to Grand St., Meadow St., and West Main St. before finishing at French St.

The milling of this project is scheduled to start on Monday, August 29, 2022 and be completed Friday, September 9, 2022. The resurfacing of this project is scheduled to start on Sunday, September 11, 2022 and be completed on Friday, September 23, 2022.

No work performed on the day before or the day after the Labor Day Holiday.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the milling of this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday) The night work schedule for the paving of this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).
