Waterbury, Conn.–State officials gathered in Waterbury recently to encourage residents to sign up for a new prescription drug discount card program.

Members of the legislative delegation were joined by State Comptroller Sean Scanlon at Stoll’s Pharmacy to talk about the free app. The program was established by a new law (Public Act 23-171) supported by Representative Bill Pizzuto (R-71).

“I know there are people choosing between food and medicine so the ArrayRx discount prescription drug program will make a difference for those Connecticut residents who sign up for the free e-card. Local pharmacists go above and beyond to help people any way they can, and this is another tool in the toolbox to make it possible for people to get the prescriptions they need,” said Pizzuto.

The Comptroller has entered Connecticut into the multi-state consortium known as ArrayRx, which also operates in Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. All residents of Connecticut are eligible to sign up for an ArrayRx discount card at no cost to them nor the state.

When purchasing prescription drugs, consumers present the card at their pharmacy, and they can receive savings of up to 80% on certain medications. The card can be used at approximately 98% of pharmacies in Connecticut.

More information on how the ArrayRx discount card works, including a list of frequently asked questions and a drug price lookup tool, can be found at arrayrxcard.com.
