New Laws Effective July 1st

I wanted to make you aware of new policies affecting Connecticut taxpayers and businesses that take effect on July 1st, 2022.

This year, several important measures that may impact you, your family or your business become law, including:

AN ACT CONCERNING POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY – Public Act No. 20-1
AN ACT CONCERNING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS – Public Act No. 22-43
AN ACT CONCERNING CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH – Public Act No. 22-47 (Sec. 3, 7-8, 11, 13, 16-21, 28, 34-37, 45, 59-64, 68-69)
AN ACT CONCERNING OPIOIDS – Public Act No. 22-108 (Sec. 1-5)
AN ACT CONCERNING ADOPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONNECTICUT PARENTAGE ACT – Public Act No. 21-15 (Sec. 38-39)

Connecticut’s annual Sales Tax Free Week begins on the third Sunday of August and runs until the following Saturday. This year it’s August 17th through August 23rd!
