Local Student Artists on Display at the Capitol!

State Reps. Bill Pizzuto (R-71) and Cindy Harrison (R-69) hosted artists, their families and their friends to the Legislative Office Building in Hartford for a Region 15 and Region 12 Art Show!
The show – created as a way to highlight the incredible work being done in the districts to a wider audience – is hung prominently in the concourse between the Legislative Office Building and the State Capitol.
Reps. Pizzuto and Harrison reached out to Jeromy Nelson- Director of Fine, Applied, and Technical Arts, Pomperaug Regional School District 15, and Donna Wright, PreK-12 Art Coordinator/6-12 Art Teacher/Student Activities Coordinator, Regional #12 School District, for assistance and were overwhelmed by the response.
“The talent on display is inspiring, and displaying such impressive work in the people’s building is fantastic. The artists deserve to have their work showcased and there’s no better place than the state Capitol,” Rep. Pizzuto said.
Rep. Harrison agreed, adding, “It is wonderful to see the variety and quality of each painting, sculpture and drawing hanging in the concourse, but it’s even better knowing students from Regions 12 and 15 created this wonderful art.”
