Traffic Detour Scheduled for Bridge Work on Route 8 in Litchfield and Harwinton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that expansion joint repairs on Bridge 00609 on Route 8 North/South in the Towns of Litchfield and Harwinton will require a detour of Route 8 North and South. The work and detour is scheduled for Friday night, November 4, 2016, from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM, weather permitting. The rain date delay will be Saturday November 5, 2016.

DETOUR INFO Traffic will be detoured off Route 8 northbound at Exit 38 and be directed north on Route 254 to Litchfield and east on Route 118 to Exit 42. Northbound Route 8 Exits 38, 39, 40 and 41 will be closed during this period.

Traffic will be detoured off Route 8 southbound at Exit 42 and be directed west on Route 118 to Litchfield and south on Route 254 to Thomaston to Exit 38. Only Exit 42 Route 8 southbound will be closed. Access to Routes 6 and 222 from Route 8 Northbound will be via Route 254 in Thomaston.
