Thomaston’s 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards: Betsy and Bill Edwards

THOMASTON – The Rotary Club of Thomaston proudly recognized Betsy and Bill Edwards for their outstanding community service and unwavering dedication to Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” at its annual banquet and awards ceremony held on April 10, 2025.
The celebration of Thomaston’s “Citizens of the Year,” took place at the Grand Oak Villa in Oakville, where community members, local leaders, and fellow Rotarians gathered to honor the Edwards’ lasting contributions to the Thomaston area. Known for their tireless volunteerism, generous spirit, and leadership in numerous civic initiatives, Betsy and Bill exemplify the values and mission of Rotary.
As part of the evening’s program, State Representative John Piscopo and State Sen. Henri Martin presented the Edwards with an official legislative citation from the Connecticut General Assembly, recognizing their exceptional service and commitment to the community.
“This event is a tribute to those who go above and beyond in service to others,” said Piscopo. “Betsy and Bill have made a meaningful and lasting impact on our community, and we are thrilled to recognize their achievements.”
The banquet is a cornerstone event for the Rotary Club, reinforcing its commitment to fostering community involvement, leadership, and humanitarian service.
