Retire Your Worn American Flags: June 1 – June 11

Retire Your Worn American Flags: June 1 – June 11

Along with enjoying the summer season, we also observe several patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day, Flag Day and the Fourth of July. This makes it the perfect time to properly retire your worn, faded, and tattered American flags as you prepare to put on fresh new displays of the Stars and Stripes.

There will be three locations that residents can drop off their worn American flags for proper ceremonial disposal according to the U.S. Flag Code. Drop-off locations will receive flags from June 1st until June 11th.

    The drop-off locations are:

    • Thomaston Town Hall, 158 Main Street, Thomaston, CT
    • Harwinton Town Hall, 100 Bentley Drive, Harwinton, CT
    • Burlington Town Hall, 200 Speilman Highway, Burlington, CT
