Rep. Piscopo Meets with Thomaston Girl Scout Troop

HARTFORD- State Representative John Piscopo (R-76) took part in Girl Scout Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 27, meeting with local Girl Scouts about the issues they feel are most important to girls across the state.
Rep. Piscopo met with Thomaston Girl Scouts Breanna Miclette, Alana Veronesi, Elyse Krasnowski, and Isabella Guerrera with Troup 61072, and Cadet Savannah Miller of Troup 64058.
The scouts were able to sit with Rep. Piscopo, and ask him questions that were important to them.
They were curious to know specifically, what Rep. Piscopo finds most rewarding about his job, what he finds encouraging, and which the hardest bill he is working on now is.
‘It was great to meet these young ladies and have the chance to talk with them. They asked some great questions, and were very insightful. The Girl Scouts is a great organization that teaches young girls about leadership. Our local Troops are very active and contribute a great deal to the Thomaston community,” said Piscopo.
The day also included a press conference at the Legislative Office Building. Speakers included Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, State Representative Michelle Cook (D-65), State Representative Noreen Kokoruda (R-101), and Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Mary Barneby. The press conference was followed by a pinning ceremony to recognize new and returning members of the Honorary Girl Scout Troop at the Capitol. This group of bi-partisan policymakers forms an honorary Girl Scout Troop that is committed to advancing critical issues for girls and women of Connecticut.
Girl Scout Day at the Capitol gave Girl Scouts throughout Connecticut a chance to meet one-on-one with legislators to learn more about our democratic process, and to highlight the important initiatives that 47,300 Girl Scouts and more than 19,000 Girl Scout volunteers find critical in every community across the state.
Rep. Piscopo represents the 76th District in the General Assembly.
