Rep. John Piscopo Honors Burlington Town Official’s 30 Years Of Service

BURLINGTON– State Rep John Piscopo (R-76) joined town officials, administrators, supporters, friends, and family, as they honored JoAnn McBrien’s service with the town of Burlington for 30 years. The retirement reception held at Burlington’s Town Hall celebrated the great success, and lifetime of contributions that McBrien has given to the town and surrounding community.
“This event was a great way to honor and recognize the outstanding work and the commitment of Mrs. McBrien,” said Rep. Piscopo. “She selflessly gave of her time in order to provide enriching opportunities for senior citizens, and to expand recreational programs throughout the community. Her lifetime contribution to our community for decades has earned her a very special place not only in the history of Burlington, but in our hearts as well. I congratulate Mrs. McBrien on her service to this great community, and I wish her continued success and happiness.”
First Selectman Theodore Shafer hosted the event and spoke on the many contributions McBrien gave to the Burlington community during her tenure, most recently as Director of Parks and Recreation and Senior Citizen Services. Rep. Piscopo presented McBrien with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly. Town officials, dignitaries, and friends all spoke on the outstanding achievements McBrien realized throughout her career in civil service.
