HARTFORD – State Rep. John Piscopo (R-76) joined fellow colleagues in the General Assembly in taking the oath of office during opening day of the 2017 legislative session this past week. Piscopo, who will be serving his fifteenth term, was re-appointed as Senior House Republican Whip (the third-highest ranking leadership position within the caucus) by House Republican Leader Themis Klarides.

Rep. Piscopo also announced his committee assignments for the 2017-2018 legislative sessions. He will continue to serve on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, as well as the Environment, and Energy & Technology Committees.
Rep. Piscopo said he will continue support common sense fiscal policies that will maintain, stimulate, and attract business in this state, as well as encourage small business growth, create jobs, and lower taxes. He added, “I will continue to work to make Connecticut a more affordable place for families and all residents to thrive.”
