Piscopo Testifies in Support of Increasing Prevailling Wage Rates

HARTFORD- Today, State Rep. John Piscopo testified in favor of SB-990, An Act Increasing the Prevailing Wage Rates. Rep. Piscopo asked the Labor Committee to support a bill will lower the cost of State and municipal building or rehabilitation projects.
Rep. Piscopo in spoken testimony said “the bill will allow smaller, construction companies to take part in bidding process.”
“It is my belief changing this law may spur construction thus job growth,” added Rep. Piscopo.
Also testifying today in favor of the bill was Harwinton First Selectman Frank Chiaramonte and Litchfield First Selectman Leo Paul.
