Piscopo Reappointed as Senior Minority Whip

Preparing to start his thirteenth term in the General Assembly, State Rep. John Piscopo (R-76) was recently re-appointed as Senior House Minority Whip (the third-highest ranking leadership position within the House Republican caucus) by House Republican Leader Larry Cafero.
Rep. Piscopo also announced a committee assignment for the 2013-2015 legislative session. He will continue to serve on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee for the upcoming two years and has been newly appointed to the Energy & Technology Committee.
“I am honored to have been re-appointed as Senior House Minority Whip. I am looking forward to working with fellow members and advocacy groups to bring a common sense approach to government. During the last two-year legislative cycle, the governor approved the largest tax increase in Connecticut history, including hikes to the state’s income and sales taxes, which I vehemently opposed. I will continue to work hard for the people of my district and advocate for more responsible fiscal policies that keep taxes low and encourages job growth,” said Piscopo.
The 2013 Legislative Session began on Wednesday, January 9, at 10:00am. Rep. Piscopo was first elected to the State House in 1988.
