HARTFORD – State Representative John Piscopo (R-76) applauded the decision to award a $1,000,000 grant to assist with renovations and expansion of the Burlington Public Library.
“This is an exciting announcement for Burlington and the many people served by the Burlington Public Library,” said Rep. Piscopo. “The library is an essential part of the Burlington community. Not only does it provide our residents with a variety of materials and resources, but it also serves as a major provider of quality educational and recreational programming. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all of those involved in the process to secure the grant. This aid is an investment in our community and our future.”
The town intends to renovate portions of the existing building and construct an addition of approximately 3,500 sq. ft. This grant-in-aid, along with funds bonded by the town of Burlington, will finance the project.
