Piscopo Marks Manufacturing Month With Tour of Local Business

Thomaston – In celebration of Manufacturing Month, Rep. John Piscopo (R-76) visited Thomaston-based Ward Leonard CT, LLC, meeting with company employees and touring the facility.
“I am thrilled to be able to support local manufacturing right here in our hometown,” said Rep. Piscopo. “It is evident from speaking with folks at Ward Leonard that their commitment to quality and excellence is what has made them a key industry player for well over a century and is matched only by the pride they take in the development and manufacturing of their products. I thank everyone at Ward Leonard for their time today during my visit, for their tremendous contributions to our hometown and the state, and I wish them continued success.”
During the tour provided by Ward Leonard’s Director of Operational Excellence, Neil Haggard, and joined by CBIA’s Grassroots and Legislator Outreach Coordinator, Adam Ney, Piscopo had the opportunity to discuss the company’s many contributions to both the local and state economy, in addition to discussing ways to improve Connecticut’s business climate. Piscopo also learned about the various processes the company utilizes and the products they manufacture, primarily highly engineered drilling motors, controls, and integrated solutions for both industrial and Military/Department of Defense customers.
Opening in the late 1800s, Ward Leonard has been a leading global manufacturer for over 120 years. For more information, visit: www.wardleonard.com.
