Replacement of Highway Signs on Route 8 in Thomaston, Litchfield, Harwinton, Torrington, and Winchester
The CT Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that it will be replacing highways signs along Route 8 in the coming weeks.
The project consists of installing new overhead and side mounted signs and foundations on a 21.0 mile segment of Route 8 northbound and southbound between Thomaston and Winchester, beginning on May 2, 2016.
The DOT project is scheduled to be completed May 2017.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect shoulder closures and periodic lane closures on Route 8 northbound and southbound from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Impact attenuators and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
