The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the rehabilitation of Bridge #00608 on Route 8 Northbound in the Towns of Litchfield and Harwinton will begin September 14, 2015.
The project consists of the replacement of the concrete bridge deck and associated parapets. New metal beam rail and pavement along with other minor safety improvements will also be completed. Structural steel repair and blasting and painting will take place. Traffic will be realigned to a single lane crossover in each direction utilizing the adjacent Route 8 Southbound Bridge.
DOT Project No. 0073-0182 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc. at a cost of $10,584,705.90 on 8/12/15 and is scheduled to be completed 10/6/17.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Beginning after 9/14/15, expect delays Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with one lane closures on both Northbound and Southbound Route 8.
