HARTFORD- State Rep. John Piscopo (Burlington, Harwinton, Litchfield, and Thomaston) congratulated Thomaston High School Girls’ Basketball Team on their title victory to become Class S State Champions.
“It was an honor to host the Thomaston High School Girls’ Basketball Team and congratulate them on their big win,” said Piscopo, who hosted the team and their coaches at the State Capitol.

Piscopo introduced the group in the Hall of the House of Representatives to fellow legislators, staff, and guests, who gave a warm welcome and congratulatory ovation to the team in honor of their accomplishment. Each coach and player received individual citations from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of their great achievement.

“I’m so glad I was able to attend four of their regular season games and support the team. I offer my sincerest congratulations to Coach Robert McMahon, along with Assistant Coaches Geraci, Finlay, and Ryan, and Team Managers Milius and Revere, and all of the players on the girls’ basketball team on their incredible season and solid victory.”

Thomaston defeated No. 1 seed St. Paul in double overtime to win the Class S title on March 22, 2013. The championship game was played at Mohegan Sun Arena.
