Piscopo Congratulates Harwinton’s Outstanding Citizen

HARWINTON—State Rep. John Piscopo (R-76) offered his congratulations to this year’s Harwinton Outstanding Citizen of the Year, Claire Ferraroti. During a banquet held in her honor at the Fairview Farm Golf Course, Ferraroti was presented with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of her achievement.
A Harwinton resident of over 35 years, Ferraroti was chosen for the honor by a six-member, rotating committee of fellow residents including past award recipients, led by Chairman Fred J. Fincken Jr. Award recipients are chosen for their dedication and contribution to the Harwinton community.
‘It is my honor to congratulate Claire Ferraroti on an award, of which she is most deserving,’ said Rep. Piscopo. ‘With her commitment to volunteerism, Claire continues to touch the lives of many. Her continued genuine support for the Harwinton community is commendable. I am proud to recognize her with a citation on behalf of the Connecticut General Assembly for her outstanding achievement.’
Besides serving as a member of the Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Ferraroti is an active member of the Bronc Callahan Community Fund, serving on its Board of Directors. She continues to remain heavily involved in preparing and delivering food baskets for the needy, and volunteers at their fundraising events. Ferraroti also volunteers countless hours annually for the Harwinton Center Fire Department booth at the Harwinton Fair. She also assists with various town fundraisers, and at Red Cross blood drives.
The award for civic involvement has been presented annually since 1975.
Rep. Piscopo represents the 76th District in the General Assembly.
