Piscopo Celebrates Advance in Energy Alternative During Local Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, State Representative John Piscopo (R-Thomaston) attended a ribbon cutting ceremony held by the City of Waterbury and Doosan Fuel Cell America Inc. of South Windsor, to mark the installation of three fuel-cell power plants at the Waterbury Pollution Control Facility at 210 Municipal Road.

“I’m proud to support energy alternatives in Connecticut, such as these Doosan natural gas-powered fuel cells, which will protect our environment while providing energy for residents and businesses throughout our state,” said Rep. Piscopo, a member of the legislature’s Environment Committee.

The natural gas-powered fuel cells were provided and installed by Doosan at no cost to the city, which expects to save $150,000 annually on power costs for the facility.
