Rep. Piscopo on Friday February 4th joined local and state legislators, students, college professors and administrators for the first Naugatuck Valley Community College Legislative Breakfast, “Toward a Shared Agenda,” to discuss the College’s growth, its challenges and successes and its plan for the future.
The event, hosted by the college and NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D., was a way for local legislators to learn first-hand the issues affecting Connecticut’s community colleges and how the decisions made in Hartford directly affect the educational system across the state. Transportation and accessibility were two of the main topics covered during the breakfast.
“It is essential we communicate with our community colleges, especially during this tough economic climate. We will assist in making sure their doors stay open and doesn’t leaves anyone out.”
