I would like to make you aware of a state agency available to all Connecticut residents that is often overlooked.

The Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA), an independent and non-partisan agency, works to protect and promote the Constitutional and Statutory rights of crime victims in Connecticut.
The OVA monitors and evaluates the provision of services to crime victims and works to advance policies throughout the state that promote the fair and just treatment of crime victims throughout the criminal justice system.

The OVA also seeks to ensure that the voices of crime victims play a central role in Connecticut’s response to violence and to those victimized by crime.
If you have questions about the agency, or feel that your rights as a crime victim have been violated, please contact their office toll free at (888) 771-3126.
