On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the State Bond Commission approved $3.5 million for the restoration of the Thomaston Opera House.

State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) and State Representative John Piscopo (R-76) shared their gratitude for this next important step in the bonding process.

“The Opera House is a local treasure which draws talent and arts enthusiasts from around the work to our quiet little town. I am excited and proud that the bond commission chose to invest in the Thomaston Opera House. I am looking forward to seeing how the planned renovation updates this iconic spot,” said Sen. Martin.

“The arts are an invaluable asset to our community and surrounding area,” said Rep. Piscopo. “I wish to thank the governor, Secretary of Policy and Management Melissa McCaw, and the local officials that helped to get this needed renovation started so we can continue to bring the arts and culture to the greater Thomaston area.”
