Information for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield CT Customers

In an effort to keep you informed, I wanted to share with you, some information regarding a Consumer Alert released by the Connecticut Insurance Department regarding difficulties that constituents are experiencing with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield CT.
While this is a federal issue, it is my hope that this information is helpful in providing you with some answers as Anthem continues to work through and resolve this issue.
Upon signing up for coverage by Anthem through the Access Health CT marketplace during the Affordable Care Act open enrollment period that began October 1, 2013, many constituents are reporting experiencing great difficulties in getting through to or receiving enrollment and/or billing information from Anthem.
Some concerns constituents have been faced with are:
*payment information for insurance premiums, many of which were sent to Anthem weeks ago, has yet to be processed
*extensive waiting period/have not received enrollment information from Anthem, including insurance cards
*unable to reach customer service when calling due to extensive call volume
Anthem is aware of these issues and is taking steps to ease the backlog and increase responsiveness to consumers.
