Hunting & Fishing Appreciation Day, Sept 28th

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
On September 28, 2013, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (“DEEP“) and Friends of Sessions Woods will be hosting “Hunting & Fishing Appreciation Day” at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area in Burlington, Connecticut.
Fun activities for all ages are planned, along with educational programs and workshops about hunting and fishing. Best of all, the event is free to attend!
So, mark your calendar to practice your shooting and casting skills or talk to DEEP biologists about wildlife and fisheries.
There are many different activities for children of all ages. Older children will be able to test their skills on the .22 rifle and archery ranges, younger children will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, learn about wildlife, and make crafts.
Food will be available for sale or you can bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy.
Hunters and anglers have been at the forefront of the conservation movement for over 100 years. They showed their support by requesting taxes and special fees on hunting and fishing equipment to help pay for wildlife and fish management, habitat restoration, and other conservation programs through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration (WSFR) Program.
