The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) now offers estimated wait times online for various services.
Using a computer, smart phone or tablet, you can find estimated wait times before heading to any of the major branch locations around the state.
According to the DMV, the online times are accurate within 10 minutes of real time. They also note that
The new feature is specific to various services, such as the wait time for registering a vehicle, obtaining a license or ID card or requesting a duplicate title.
