HARTFORD – In an effort to keep you as informed as possible, I wanted to let you know that the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection has announced that it is accepting applications for its Annual Firewood Lottery.
The Annual Firewood Lottery offers Connecticut homeowners an opportunity to enjoy the state forests in a unique way by harvesting firewood from state land.
Using firewood provides an opportunity to reduce home heating costs. This may be an option, or alternative, for many of you looking to heat your homes in a more cost effective manner.

Applications are being accepted until February 1, 2013. Awards will be determined by March 15, 2013.
