Once again, in an effort to support our local military families, the Connecticut National Guard will be implementing Operation ELF (Embracing Local Families). Established in 2003, Operation ELF aims to ease the stresses of deployment that military families face.

This year, Operation ELF organizers are asking for donations in the form of pharmacy, grocery, department store, and home supply store gift cards as well as donations of fuel oil, snow removal, and home maintenance.

All donations can be dropped off between the hours of 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m. at any of the following locations through December 12, 2014:

    Gov. William A. O’Neill Armory
    360 Broad Street
    Hartford, CT 06105-3706

    Bradley Air National Guard Base
    100 Nicholson Road
    East Granby, CT 06026

Windsor Locks Readiness Center/Army Aviation Support Facility
    85-300 Light Lane
    Windsor Locks, CT 06357

    New London Armory
    249 Bayonet Street
    New London, CT 06320

Veterans Memorial Armed Forces Reserve Center
    90 Wooster Heights Road
    Danbury, CT 06810

Additionally, donations may be made at the Governor’s Residence Holiday Open Houses, which will be held on December 5th and 6th from 10a.m.-3p.m. and December 7th from 12-4p.m.

If you wish to make a monetary donation, please send it to Connecticut National Guard Foundation, Inc., c/o 360 Broad Street, Hartford, CT 06105-3796.

    All donations are fully tax-deductible.

Currently, thirty-eight Connecticut National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are deployed overseas in Southwest Asia, with another 225 expected to deploy within the next fifteen months.

Please consider making a donation to help support our military families!
