Cooling Centers Open

We can expect record heat and humidity over the next several days. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of the Northeast. Temperatures are forecast to be in the low 90’s this week with heat index values in the upper 90’s to 100 degrees.
To provide relief to folks who may need it, the Towns of Burlington and Plymouth are opening cooling centers starting Monday, July 15, 2013 through Friday, July 19, 2013 at the following locations:
Senior Center at Town Hall (200 Spielman Highway, Burlington) M-W: 8am – 8pm
Air conditioning and water are available.
Plymouth Town Hall (80 Main Street, Terryville)
Community Room / Senior Lounge Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm

Please try to stay hydrated and remember to keep pets watered and out of the sun. If you or someone you know is experiencing light-headedness or any health irregularities due to the heat and humidity, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 for assistance.
Also, please consider checking on neighbors who may need some extra help.
