    Assistance for Connecticut Veteran-Owned Businesses

    Assistance for Connecticut Veteran-Owned Businesses
This article was archived from the previous WordPress site. Formatting and media should be close, but may not match the original post perfectly.

If you are a Veteran-owned business, I want you to be aware of the programs and opportunities offered by the State of Connecticut and the Federal Government which help support the growth of your business.

These resources range from contracting opportunities with the State and Federal government along with major defense contractors, special loan guarantee programs from the U.S. Small Business Administration and export trade support from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

It is estimated that in Connecticut there may be up to 30,000 Veteran owned businesses. Unfortunately, there is no listing of these businesses. The State and Federal Government would like to be able to keep your business informed of available opportunities.

Please go to this link and register your company as a Veteran-owned business, that way you can be notified of programs and opportunities that will benefit your business.

To list your company as a Connecticut Veteran-owned business, click on this link or visit the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC)- www.cerc.com

CERC maintains a database of government business assistance programs and can help your company navigate through the various available programs. CERC is also available by phone at 1-800-392-2122.

Registering with CERC will not make your information public, it will only be utilized by government agencies to provide outreach to Veteran-owned businesses.

For more information on available programs and opportunities contact:

U.S. Small Business Administration: Frank Alvarado, Veteran Program manager, Phone: 203-335-0427, Frank.Alvarado@sba.gov

U.S. Department of Commerce Export Center: Anthony Sargis, Veteran Program Manager, Phone 860-638-6954, Anthony.Sargis@trade.gov

CT Technical Assistance Program for Government and Federal Defense Contracting: Lisa Wood, Phone: 860-437-4659 Ext. 208, Email: lwood@secter.org

I hope this information is helpful!
