HARTFORD – State Representative John Piscopo (R-76) participated in “Agriculture Day” on Wednesday, March 20. Future Farmers of America chapters throughout Connecticut visit the Capitol Complex to meet with lawmakers and to share their Vo-Ag program experiences. As a member of the legislature’s Environment Committee, Piscopo understands the importance of Vo-Ag programs. “It’s critical that Connecticut students are able to explore careers within the state’s growing agriculture industry. Traditional farming is only one route to take, there are many other ways in which young people can get involved. I appreciated them taking the time to come to Hartford and meet with my colleagues and I, the stories that were shared with us are incredibly valuable,” said Piscopo.

Agriculture Day is annual event held at the State Capitol. In addition to Vo-Ag students, the Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection was on hand to advertise its various services that have been instituted to support agriculture.
