Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CT Prescription Drug Discount Program

A new CT Prescription Drug Discount Card Program is being launched on October 2nd. All residents can sign up online as of that date for the free discount card to receive savings on certain prescription drugs.

The program was established by Public Act 23-171, which is to be administered by the Office of the State Comptroller. Connecticut is now part of a multi-state consortium known as ArrayRx, which also operates in Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. When purchasing prescription drugs, consumers present the card at their pharmacy, and they can receive savings of up to 80% on certain medications. All FDA-approved drugs are eligible for a discount.

STEAP GRANT ALLOCATION

Last week, Governor Lamont announced the release of $24.5 million in state grants for 60 small towns across Connecticut. Each of these grants will serve to complete a variety of projects related to roads, parks, infrastructure, and capital improvements.

The Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grants provide state funding to match municipal funding for select programs and projects throughout the state. Please see the list of grants that affect our district below:

  • Shelton: $500,000 in state funding is approved for the upgrades to sports fields. This will be matched by $523,100 in town funds.
