Bill Would Implement Pilot Peer Navigator Program

HARTFORD – State Representative Tom O’Dea (R-125) co-sponsored and voted in favor of HB 5430 – An Act Concerning Opioids. This bill would update existing laws affecting opioid abuse, prevention, and treatment.

Among the changes in the bill are allowing for mobile treatment programs, adding more non-opioid treatments to the list of options practitioners must provide their patients, and amends the definition of “drug paraphernalia” to allow individuals

HARTFORD — Soaring inflation, utility price increases, and rising gas prices have added another financial burden to Connecticut residents and taxpayers that they cannot afford. We heard your concerns, and turned to provide immediate relief for you and your families.

On March 10, House and Senate Republicans proposed a suspension of the state gas tax, and called on Governor Lamont and legislative Democrats to join us.

March 8th is #InternationalWomensDay and today, we celebrate former Governor Ella T. Grasso.
Grasso, from Windsor Locks, was the first female to be elected governor of her state in American history. She was first elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in 1952, and was elected Governor of Connecticut in 1974.
Her dedication to public service to the State of Connecticut is a source of inspiration for us all.

HARTFORD – On Tuesday, State Representative Tom O’Dea (R-125) testified to the Committee on Children in support of legislation protecting children from potential dangers of joining social media platforms when they are ill-prepared to discern such dangers. New Canaan needs more affordable housing. As legislators, we should pursue more thoughtful and proper methods to do so than 8-30g.
This bill punishes municipalities like New Canaan, a town which has prioritized the access to affordable housing, but cannot keep up with the demands from Hartford outlined in 8-30g. With the help of other state and local lawmakers, we will continue to fight for local control of zoning.

Today is Opening Day of the 2022 Legislative Session. I am proud to represent the good people of New Canaan and Wilton and serve as your voice in the State Capitol.
