TOLLAND – The public is invited to the Tolland Middle School on June 8 at 7 p.m. to discuss the recent “street takeover” that occurred in Tolland. As you may know, the incident, which included more than a 100 people taking over an intersection, surrounding and damaging vehicles, and launching fireworks, was greatly concerning.
Connecticut State Police will be in attendance to discuss the response to that incident, listen to the concerns of all residents and talk about what they are doing in its aftermath.
This isn’t just happening in Tolland, these incidents have occurred recently in Simsbury, Bristol and Naugatuck. It’s a statewide issue and it must be addressed.
A statewide tip line and website has also been established for “Street Takeovers” within Connecticut. Residents can call 1-800-CALL-FBI and select the “Connecticut Street Takeovers” option, or visit fbi.gov/cttakeovertips to provide investigators with video/photos related to these events. All information may be submitted anonymously and will remain confidential.
