Rep. Nuccio Encouraging Residents to Take Part in Flag Collection Event with BSA Troop 82 in Willington
WILLINGTON – State Representative Tammy Nuccio (R-53rd) is partnering with BSA Troop 82 to help residents retire their worn or frayed U.S. flags in a dignified and respectful way.
There will be two separate drop-off locations in Willington for flags that are no longer in a condition to be displayed. The collection drive will take place from Sept. 9 to Sept. 19, all flags will be retired during a ceremony on Sept. 20 at the Willington Town Green on Route 74.
The collection effort is part of the 11th Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony organized by BSA 82. Everyone is welcome at the ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m. If you have a flag you wish to retire, please bring it to the ceremony so you can place it on the fire in honor and memory of a person of your choice.
Drop off locations are:
- Willington Town Hall (40 Old Farms Road)
- Willington Senior Center (20 Senior Way)
