VERNON/TOLLAND – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, recently announced that Vernon and Tolland have received grants through the state’s Neglected Cemetery Account Grant Program to assist with upkeep efforts at local cemeteries.
Caring for our cemeteries is about more than just maintenance—it’s about honoring those who have passed and preserving the history of our communities that can be found in each grave marker. Our cemeteries are the final resting places of family, loved ones, veterans, and local leaders, and ensuring they remain well-kept is a shared responsibility.
The grants, $8,000 for each town, will help support essential maintenance, from clearing overgrowth to repairing fences and restoring memorial stones.
