WOLCOTT – State Representative Gale Mastrofrancesco (R-80th) was recognized Tuesday for an outstanding record in support of Connecticut businesses.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA), which represents thousands of large and small employers, gave Mastrofrancesco a 100% on its annual State House Voting Record Scorecard.

Votes were scored on 10 bills, chosen for their potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery.

“Connecticut has become unaffordable for our residents and families. Our local businesses, whether it’s the corner shop or large companies that employ thousands, are dealing with the same issues that make it harder to live and work here – high gas prices, cost increases for everyday products and excessive taxes,” Rep. Mastrofrancesco said. “Our businesses are the backbone of our economy and as lawmakers, we should be finding new ways to assist in their recovery from the pandemic, not burdening them with fees and regulations. I’ll continue to fight not only for businesses in Wolcott and Southington, but also those across the state. I thank the CBIA for recognizing me for that.”

CBIA vice president of public policy Eric Gjede said the scorecard demonstrates a lawmaker’s level of awareness around critical issues impacting the economy and job creation and shows which lawmakers were willing to stand with the business community to prioritize these issues.

The full scorecard can be viewed here.
