HARTFORD – Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco, R-Wolcott, recently stood alongside fellow lawmakers, parents, and advocates at a press conference to defend the rights of homeschool families across Connecticut.
The event, which occurred on the final day of the 2025 Legislative Session, brought together homeschooling parents, their children, and lawmakers on the steps of the Capitol to rally against potential regulatory changes. Earlier this session, thousands of homeschoolers rallied at the Legislative Office Building to send a message to majority lawmakers who had held a forum to discuss homeschooling in Connecticut.
“As a strong believer in parental rights and limiting government, I will continue to oppose any attempt to place unnecessary or burdensome regulations on homeschoolers. Families who choose to educate their children at home deserve support—not government overreach or suspicion,” said Rep. Mastrofrancesco. “The collective voices of homeschoolers who came to the Capitol recently helped pressure majority Democrat lawmakers from passing new homeschooling regulations, but remain vigilant, because they may try again. Let’s make sure Hartford gets the message loud and clear: hands off our homeschoolers!”
