HARTFORD – State Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco (R-80) offered recent testimony in connection to SJ 6, a “Resolution Recognizing and Honoring Veterans Of The Vietnam War Who Were Exposed To Agent Orange.”
Rep. Mastrofrancesco requested the resolution and submitted testimony to the Veterans Committee, which held a public hearing on the resolution on Tuesday.
“Members of our military who fought overseas in Vietnam deserve our gratitude, which is why I, along with have requested a resolution that would honor veterans of the Vietnam War who were exposed to Agent Orange. This Joint Resolution would recognize our brave veterans who fought overseas and were exposed to the effects the carcinogenic chemical Agent Orange,” Rep. Mastrofrancesco said. “The Secretary of Veteran Affairs has stated that more than 150,000 veterans were expected to make claims for exposure to Agent Orange, but some estimate the total who were exposed during their military service is even higher.”
She continued: “This resolution represents an opportunity for us to acknowledge what they went through and continue to endure. I will be supporting passage.”
