Nursing Homes
This week, new nursing home data was released. Unfortunately, nursing home residents make up 43% of the total coronavirus-related deaths that have been reported by the state’s Department of Public Health. The full nursing home data and analysis can be accessed by clicking here.
Gov. Lamont also issued an executive order, which strengthened the reporting requirements of Connecticut’s nursing homes and managed residential communities (assisted living facilities). According to the order, both nursing homes and managed residential communities will provide daily status reports. The reported data will be used to help guide response efforts to better protect the state’s elderly population.
