WOLCOTT – Both students and teachers across the state celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Day – including a reading by a local legislator, State Representative Gail Mastrofrancesco (R-80) at Wakelee Elementary School in Wolcott.
Rep. Mastrofrancesco said, “I have so much fun interacting with the children and answering their thoughtful questions. I want to thank Wakelee for inviting me to this special day which celebrates the joys of reading. It’s great to see the spark in the students eyes as we read and discuss the themes of an interesting book.”
The National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books.
