National Day of Unplugging – March 1, 2024 – March 2, 2024

This Friday, March 1st is the annual National Day of Unplugging, a 24-hour period where people commit to removing, or seriously limiting, their technology use.

This annual event, conceived as a way for people to easily relax and unwind, is celebrated on the first Friday of March beginning at sunset and continues until sunset of the following day.

The governor’s controversial proposal to force the DMV to redesign Connecticut’s “drive only” licenses for undocumented residents to be indistinguishable from licenses issued to US Citizens came before the Transportation Committee for a public hearing yesterday.

2024 Rare Disease Day is Wednesday, February 28, 2024. 

Inspired by a constituent whose young son is battling a rare and fatal muscle disease, State Representative Tracy Marra (R-141) proposed legislation to add Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) to the disorders detected through the Connecticut Newborn Screening Program, which provides standard screening for serious genetic disorders to all newborns born in the state.
