Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to meet with officials from ISO-New England and tour their Massachusetts facility which controls the “day-to-day operations of New England’s power grid,” oversees the regional energy market, and manages the regional needs of the grid.
As the Ranking Member of the legislature’s Energy & Technology Committee, and a Connecticut ratepayer, I am deeply invested in learning everything I can about the state’s energy needs and how they fit into the larger New England power grid. I appreciate the executives from ISO-NE for inviting me to visit their incredible facility to see first hand how decisions are made, energy markets are forecast on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and how power is acquired and distributed throughout the region.
