Will serve on Education, Public Health and Transportation Committees

On Wednesday morning, State Representative Tracy Marra (R-141) joined her colleagues and took the oath of office to serve as the voice of the 141st District and the people of Darien and Norwalk in the General Assembly.

“I am honored to represent the people of Darien and Norwalk and I am excited to get to work for our state and our community,” Representative Marra said. “Taking the oath inside the beautiful Capitol building with the excitement of legislators old and new and the support of families and friends all worked together to create an atmosphere of enthusiasm for Connecticut.”

For the 2023-2024 legislative session, House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora appointed Representative Marra to serve on the legislature’s Education Committee, Public Health Committee and Transportation Committee. A trained pharmacist, Rep. Marra said she is very excited to join the Public Health Committee. Transportation and education are also very important issues in her community and across the state.

“As we see so much disfunction in our Federal Government, I want to thank Representative Candelora for his strong leadership of the House Republicans,” Rep. Marra said. “As House Republican leader, he once again proudly stood to second the nomination of Democrat Representative Ritter as Speaker of the House, and his statement regarding both parties uniting to pass legislation for the common good of Connecticut residents should be heard throughout the nation. We need to work together to find ways to make Connecticut an economically competitive and more affordable state.”

Representative Marra and her family made Darien their home after living abroad for several years. She believes in a bottom-up approach to government, one that is transparent and held accountable. The government needs to work for the people of Connecticut.
