Rep. Marra Learns About the Shatterproof Treatment Atlas to Fight Opioid Addiction

State Rep. Tracy Marra today joined colleagues, addiction and recovery specialists, medical professionals, and concerned citizens for the debut and a brief training overview of a new statewide addiction services website platform, Shatterproof Treatment Atlas.
Shatterproof Treatment Atlas, a life-saving platform that highlights appropriate, high-quality addiction options, launched in Connecticut during National Addiction Treatment Week during an event at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, October 24. October is also Youth Substance Use Prevention Month.
“Addiction has gripped our families and neighbors. I want to thank Gary and the team at Shatterproof for bringing this important treatment tool to 14 states across our country, including right here in Connecticut,” Rep. Tracy Marra, a member of the legislature’s Public Health Committee, said. “We need solid and proven access to treatments. Shatterproof has provided a much needed tool that will help identify treatment and support facilities for those in recovery.”
According to the company, Connecticut is the 14th state to adopt the Shatterproof Treatment Atlas, the first resource in the U.S. to offer many unique features like providing the ability to publicly display information to support those in need and their loved ones. It is free-to-the-public and confidential.
During the event, State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Deputy Commissioner Colleen Harrington, LCSW, MBA; Shatterproof Founder and CEO Gary Mendell; and Shatterproof Ambassador Dita Bhargava offered remarks. Ms. Bhargava, who lost her son to an accidental overdose in 2018, said she wished that a platform like Shatterproof Treatment Atlas existed to navigate the maze of treatment facilities and options.
