Pharmacy Day at the Capitol!

State Rep. Tracy Marra may not have been wearing her lab coat, but as a trained pharmacist she was definitely among friendly faces during a breakfast meeting of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association held at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford today.
Several dozen pharmacists, student pharmacists, instructors, and advocates crowded into the legislative dining room for an informal meeting and question and answer session with Rep. Marra, and her colleagues Rep. Tom Delnicki and Marty Foncello, as part of the 2025 Pharmacy Day at the Capitol. The annual day of advocacy allows pharmacists and student pharmacists to meet with legislators in an informal setting to discuss the healthcare issues facing the state, including the cost of prescription drugs, access to treatment, increased patient care, and fair reimbursement policies.
This session, Rep. Marra introduced or cosponsored several pieces of legislation that impact local pharmacies, and healthcare in the state, including HB6501 – An Act Concerning Consumer Access to Pharmacies; HB6134 An Act Concerning Compensation of Pharmacists; and HB6091 An Act Concerning An Equitable Medicaid Audit, Billing and Reimbursement Policy for Pharmacies; among others.
