On Thursday morning in Hartford, it was my pleasure to attend the Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities (CTCDD) Annual Legislative Breakfast. The CTCDD focuses on implementing a plan for those with developmental disabilities in our state to get the services that they need. I was joined by two residents of the 45th District, Suzi Schell and Kathie Strout, both from Gales Ferry.

HARTFORD— State Representative Brian Lanoue (R-45), announced his comprehensive legislative proposals for the 2024 regular session that began on February 7th, 2024. Since the beginning of session, Rep. Lanoue has been advocating on several concepts that were submitted to various committees at the state legislature.

During Tuesday’s Children’s Committee meeting, I had the opportunity to speak on my concept to form a task force to examine the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC). It is crucial that the ICPC protects Connecticut’s children and families, so we do not cede our authority and decision-making process to other states when it comes to Connecticut residents.
