Celebrating the Legacy of Matt's Mission

Celebrating the Legacy of Matt's Mission

Key Takeaways

  • On Wednesday, December 10th, State Representative Brian Lanoue Presented a Legislative Citation with State Senator Heather Somers to Matt's Mission

On Wednesday, I joined State Senator Heather Somers to present the members of Matt’s Mission with an official legislative citation in recognition of their extraordinary care and advocacy for those affected by substance use disorders.

For nearly a decade, Matt’s Mission has stood with individuals and family members during their most difficult moments. Whether it was guiding a neighbor toward treatment and recovery resources, organizing their annual event at Veterans Memorial Park to remember those lost to substance abuse, or working every day to break down stigma while increasing awareness of substance addictions.

Along with Griswold Pride, Matt’s Mission was a tremendous asset in getting the CRISIS Pilot Program implemented to combat the opioid and mental health crises by bringing together our police and mental health professionals.

Their work reminds us that compassion, persistence, and community can save lives. Their members have left a mark on this community and all of us within it. We are deeply grateful for everything Matt’s Mission has done to support those struggling with substance use. Your incredible work will never be forgotten.
