An Afternoon at the Preston Public Library

Posted on November 22, 2023

On Saturday, the Preston Public Library held another fun and educational program where kids got to hold and pet different animals while learning all about them.

There were Guinea pigs, bunnies, and naked neck chickens. I made a new friend, Carlos the Chinchilla.

Carlos is a rescue and comes from the Andes Mountains of Chile. They do not like the heat and roll around in volcanic ash to cool off in their natural habitat. Carlos has also been under a lot of stress lately because “his wife” is pregnant with triplet chinchillas.

Thank you to Xen’s Critters and the Preston Public Library for hosting this event and making learning fun for all ages. It was great seeing the children and their parents. I had a great time!
