American Ambulance Tour

American Ambulance Tour

Key Takeaways

  • 21 Active Ambulances
  • Each ambulance has a 5 year average service life up to 500,000 miles!
  • 15 ambulances at the main location in Norwich

On October 1st, I toured American Ambulance’s Norwich location, and met with Greg Allard (Director of EMS Affairs), Joshua Beaulieu, (Director of Operations), and Robert Rautio (EMS Network Development Manager).

We discussed the current state of emergency services, including COVID-19’s impacts on EMS which was stressful for so many, but how American’s service to the community never wavered. We also discussed their EMS and phlebotomy training center, and strong partnerships with local paid and volunteer fire departments and other emergency services. Our conversation was productive, informative, and collaborative as we discussed the many challenges with recruitment and retaining personnel that many volunteer departments are also experiencing.

Additionally, finding ways through equipment and technological advancements to reduce injuries, including those that are career ending, for so many of our first responders.

Thank you to the EMTs, paramedics, and all emergency personnel across our area for your dedication and service.
